Three brothers were fatally shot by armed assailants inside the lockup of a police station in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
According to police, the victims had been detained as suspects in a murder case involving three individuals.
As per media reports, the attackers entered the Saddar police station and opened fire, killing the three brothers and injuring their cousin. Faisalabad’s City Police Officer (CPO), Kamran Adil, has taken notice of the incident and directed action against those responsible for the security lapses.
Police have arrested four suspects involved in the shooting and recovered weapons from them, while efforts continue to apprehend other accomplices.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police spokesperson confirmed that the Punjab Inspector General (IG), Dr. Usman Anwar, has initiated an inquiry and formed a committee to thoroughly investigate the incident.
