MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal is the latest Indian celebrity to have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The actor shared the update on social media, saying he is currently under home quarantine and following all the necessary protocols.
Arjun Rampal wrote in his post that he is asymptomatic and is currently getting the medical attention that is needed. He also asked people who have come in contact with him in the last 10 days to get themselves tested.
“I have tested for COVID-19. Even though I am asymptomatic, I have isolated myself and home quarantined, getting the needed medical care. I am following all protocols as is required of me.
“To all those who have been in contact with me in the past 10 days, please take care and take the necessary precautions. This is a very scary time for us but if we are aware and wise for a short span of time, it will yield long term benefits. Together, we can and we will fight Corona!,” the statement read.

The second wave of the novel coronavirus has hit India hard. Several Bollywood actors including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, Paresh Rawal, among others, have tested positive for the virus.
There is a massive rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in India. The state of Maharashtra has by far registered the highest number of virus cases. The Indian government has imposed strict restrictions in certain states.
In terms of work, Arjun Rampal was last seen in Nail Polish, which released in January this year. The actor recently finished shooting for The Rapist, which also stars Konkona Sen Sharma. The actor also has Dhaakad, starring Kangana Ranaut, in the pipeline.
