QUETTA: The body of Awami National Party leader Malik Ubaidullah Kasi, who went missing over a month ago, has been found in Balochistan.
The handcuffed and tortured body was recovered from Muhajir camp Saranan in Pishin. It was identified as ANP leader Malik Ubaidullah, who was allegedly kidnapped in Kuchlak on June 26.
His tortured body was found near Saranan railway track after 40 days. The body has been moved to Quetta for its postmortem examination. The family members had established a protest camp for his recovery. The ANP had expressed serious concern over the kidnapping of its Malik Ubaidullah Kasi after he went missing over a month ago.
ANP central general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain had issued a statement saying that Kasi had been kidnapped by unknown people from Kuchlak area a couple of days ago but the Balochistan government had failed to take effective steps for his recovery.
He was this was not the first instance as earlier former spokesman of ANP Balochistan had also been kidnapped in such a situation last year and later his body was recovered.
He said the ANP was deeply concerned over the incident which caused a sense of insecurity among Pakhtuns and added that the situation in Balochistan was being disturbed through a well-organised conspiracy. It had said it was the duty of the government and state institutions to ensure the protection of the lives of people.
