ANF foils smuggling of drugs

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of drugs.

According to details, the drug dealers wanted to smuggle the consignment to Islamabad. ANF ​​arrested both the accused from Motorway Toll Plaza Islamabad. During the search of 2 suspicious vehicles, 240 kg of drugs were recovered.

The ANF said about 240kg of drugs, including 162kg of hashish and 78kg of opium, were recovered from the Vigo Double Cabin and the car.

During the operation, two accused named Naik Mohammad and Salman Khan were arrested.

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) registered cases against both the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act. The suspects are under further investigation, during which further revelations are expected.

Separately, Pakistan Navy and Anti-Narcotics Force seized approximately 1,000 kilograms of drugs at the North Arabian Sea.

According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, the drugs valued at approximately Rs247 million and were seized after an intelligence-based joint sea operation The seized drugs were subsequently handed over to Anti-Narcotics Force for further legal proceedings.

The spokesperson said the successful execution of Anti-Narcotics joint Operation is a strong demonstration of Pakistan Navy’s resolve to deter and disrupt illegal activities in maritime zones of Pakistan.
