ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in an operation at Islamabad airport foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs into the UK and arrested the accused.
According to details, the anti-narcotics force foiled drug trafficking in the UK and seized 4 kg of drugs from a consignment at Islamabad airport and arrested the accused.
According to airport security forces sources, the cotton booked from Sialkot was to go to London from Qatar. The authorities are working on to find the man who booked the consignment for Qatar.
Earlier, the Anti-Narcotics Forces in 16 operations carried out against drug trafficking in different parts of the country, seized 1.652 tonnes of drugs while arrested 18 persons on drug charges and impounded 9 vehicles.
According to details, the Narcotics Forces seized 1294 kg morphine 14 kg Heroin, 336.6 kg Hashish, 4.8 kg Opium and 2.650 kg of Methamphetamine (ice).
An ANF spokesman informed that the worth of the seized drugs is Rs 1.308 billion in the international market. ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team detained a passenger at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, and recovered 5.4 Kg Heroin concealed in his passenger bag.
