Allu Arjun, the star of Pushpa, was released from jail on Saturday morning after spending a night in custody. His arrest was related to a tragic incident at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, where a woman died, and her son was severely injured during a stampede. Since returning home from a Hyderabad jail, Arjun has been spending time with his family and friends.
According to a report by Indian Express on Monday, in response to backlash for not visiting the injured boy, who remains in critical condition, Arjun shared a statement on Instagram. He expressed deep concern for Sri Tej, the injured boy, and clarified that legal proceedings had prevented him from visiting the family.
Allu Arjun reassured his followers that he was committed to supporting the family and hoped for a speedy recovery. Earlier, he was warmly welcomed home by his wife, Sneha Reddy, and reunited with his brother, Allu Sirish, and children.
Several celebrities, including director Sukumar and actors Naga Chaitanya and Rana Daggubati, met him after his release. A day later, Arjun visited Chiranjeevi’s house with his family. Speaking to the media for the first time after his release, Arjun reiterated that he is a law-abiding citizen and expressed condolences to the family, calling the incident unfortunate.
The incident in question occurred on December 4 at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. A stampede broke out as fans gathered to catch a glimpse of Arjun, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Revathi and injuries to her son.
Following the tragedy, the city police filed a case against Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. However, the deceased woman’s husband has since withdrawn the complaint.
