AJK polls and happiness of all

The only element of surprise in the results of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections is why the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) did not secure all 45 seats. As per the arrangements, the party could have secured 46 out of 45 seats.

But it didn’t, because we have to convince the Modi government that our election is much better than theirs. Therefore, the elements gave Zakat of six seats to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is pleased that it is ahead of the PML-N and the allegations against Asif Ali Zardari are far behind Nawaz Sharif. Due to PPP’s politics of reconciliation, they also secured 11 seats in the AJK polls.

Kashmir’s election has now entered a stage where locals Barrister Sultan and Sardar Ilyas Tanveer are campaigning against each other to secure the Prime Minister seat.  The rest of Pakistan will move away from the situation in Azad Kashmir just as we are turning a blind eye to the situation in Occupied Kashmir. But this election will continue to be a hot topic for Pakistan’s media analytics.

A major topic that will be referenced for months is the leadership of Maryam Nawaz and her tone adopted in the election campaign. From now on, it has been suggested that if Maryam had run a Homoeopathic campaign, the PML-N might have come second. The ridiculous aspect is the impression that ‘speaking against’ reduces seats.

That is, whether you vote or not, ‘speaking against’ or language barriers can affect the outcome. Shahbaz Sharif will be happy with the criticism of Maryam Nawaz. He has no interest in taking any kind of responsibility. He just wants to protect his business and his chances of becoming prime minister.

Shehbaz was so wise that he handed over the entire election campaign of Azad Kashmir to Maryam Nawaz. However, in the beginning, he blamed many local leaders for calling Maryam Bibi in every constituency and ignoring Hamza Shahbaz. But, later when Shehbaz was informed that his party would win a bronze medal in the Azad Kashmir Olympics, he remained silent until the election.

He already knew that someone had to bear the brunt of the charges. Obviously, when his beloved niece is present at the party for this work, why does he keep on making speeches and dropping the mic? This cowardice leadership worked and now Maryam Nawaz is facing a number of accusations.

It is said that Maryam did not show the same intelligence as Bilawal Bhutto. Otherwise, a dozen seats would have been secured today. Maryam Nawaz may not be affected by this criticism. It is possible that she would be pleased with the criticism.

If Maryam Nawaz stays in the headlines because of the loss, then it is her advantage, not her detriment. And then by running a lively election campaign, she has increased her personal popularity and centrality. In Azad Kashmir, the name of Maryam Nawaz is echoing, not that of Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz.

And then what is the use of doing politics like Bilawal Bhutto? Despite all the compromises, Sheikh Rashid did not refrain from uttering words about him. Nor does Prime Minister Imran Khan mention him in any serious way.

It is surprising that everyone is pleased with AJK polls. PTI is happy with the victory, Maryam Nawaz is happy with defeat and PPP is happy with humiliation. It is enough to get so much happiness from a useless political.
