The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has extended the summer vacations by 4 more days.
According to the notification released by the Secretary, Elementary and Secondary Education, summer educational institutions in Azad Kashmir will be closed for another four days.
As per the government notification, the new vacation will be from Monday, August 10, 2026, to Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The said notification will apply to the government as well as private summer educational institutions. Further directions will be issued by the Education Department for the start of teaching activities.
Parents and students have been advised to keep an eye on further instructions to be issued by the Education Department to get timely information about the reopening of educational institutions.
It is not certain whether even after 4 days of holidays, the schools will reopen or not, as Friday, August 14, will be an official holiday, whereas Saturday and Sunday will also be holidays; hence, educational institutions will be closed till August 17.
