KARACHI: Air traffic control at the Quaid-e-Azam International Airport has saved two planes of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from crashing.
As per details, the air traffic control system had a sudden breakdown of control tower contact with both planes, both PIA planes were only a short distance away.
The air traffic controller informed through the communication Red Wireless, both pilots as per orders rescued the aircraft and prevent the accident.
Via PK-352 on PIA’s flight from Karachi to Islamabad and another flight PK-785 from Islamabad to London on the flight.
The aircraft was 26,000 feet high, while PIA’s London flight was 15000 feet high. The distance between the two planes was near.
The pilots contacted each other via radio communication and rescued both aircraft. One captain steered the ship downward, while the other captain took the aircraft to a higher altitude.
The incident occurred in the last few days in front of the two planes. In this regard, the Civil Aviation Authority took notice of the incident and ordered an investigation.
