After worst performance in T20 World Cup, is Indian team only confined to IPL?

The World Cup is very important for any team in any sport and the teams prepare for the success of the world event for years and work hard to win the title. Cricket can be considered as the second most popular sport after football in which teams are few but enthusiasm is reaching its limits.

The T20 Cricket World Cup hosted by India in the United Arab Emirates is a similar event in which every participating team looks fully prepared and excited to win the title. However, the host Indian team that participated in the event faced major defeat, after which it is being mocked by cricket fans for being confined to the IPL only. Indian cricket team

The Indian team, which started playing cricket at Lord’s Cricket Ground in the United Kingdom on June 25, 1932, has so far won all the ICC events and is currently second in the Test rankings, fourth in the ODIs, and third in the T20s. The Indian cricket team participated in the World Cup as the strongest team but in practice on the field, India suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Pakistan and New Zealand in the first match and then in the semi-finals of the Indian team of which the chances are very low.

India’s position in the T20 World

India after losing the first two matches in the recent event now needs to reach the semi-finals, but according to observers, it has become almost impossible for India to play in the semi-finals as Pakistan is top of Group Two after winning all three matches. Apparently, there is no difficulty in playing in the semi-finals while the selection of the other team is still pending.

Looking at the teams in Group Two, Afghanistan has now won two of the three matches, while Namibia has won one of the two matches. New Zealand has won one of the two matches and lost one. Both India and Scotland have lost matches.

How can India reach the semi-finals?

It is certain that Pakistan will reach the next stage in Group Two, but playing a semi-final for India is like gambling. For the Indian team, winning the next three matches will not be enough.

How can India reach the semi-finals?

Pakistan’s access to the next round in Group Two is certain, but playing in the semi-finals is tantamount to gambling for India. Winning the next three matches will not be enough for the Indian team. The next matches will have to fail and apart from the worst performances of Afghanistan and New Zealand, India will be eligible to reach the final four only if they win all three matches and improve their run rate as well. However, if Afghanistan beats New Zealand, it will be at a net run rate.

Indian captain

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli says that despite losing two matches, the World Cup is not over for India yet, we have to return to the tournament by playing positive cricket and make up for the initial two failures. The two matches didn’t go well but we have to stay positive and take risks that will take us to the top four. For the dignity of the country, one has to forget defeats and play good cricket.

Indian team and IPL

In the Indian Premier League, the attention of Indian players has been diverted from real cricket due to the scarcity of money and colors and Indian players prefer to make money in the IPL over the national team as the Indian team is very busy with the recent World Cup. However, the fact is that the players in the Indian team at the moment look very tired and frustrated because of the IPL.

Athletes need to be physically prepared and fit as well as mentally active before any major competition but India tried to use its players like a machine in the lust for money which resulted in the most in the World Cup. In the case of poor performances, it would not be wrong to say that in the lure of money, Indian cricket has been limited to the IPL.
