Adjourned NA session over three bills to be held on Monday

ISLAMABAD: The adjourned  National Assembly session that was scheduled to be introduced today over the three bills, will be held on Monday.
The three bills include the ‘Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill 2020,’ ‘Pakistan Air Force (Amendment) Bill 2020,’ and  Pakistan Navy (Amendment) Bill 2020. These bills were presented by Defence Minister Pervez Khan Khattak on Friday.
Under the proposed laws, the chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Committee and the Army, Air, and Naval chiefs would now be able to serve until they are 64 years old. Their normal tenure of service would still end when they are 60, but the President of Pakistan, on the advice of the prime minister, would have the prerogative to grant an extension to any of them at that time.
