KARACHI: Anti-Corruption Establishment has summoned two officers of the Sindh Building Control Authority on October 24 for an inquiry into several corruption cases.

SBCA Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Director Sarfaraz Hussain, Deputy Director Sami Sheikh and inspector Sajad have been summoned to the anti-corruption bureau. They have been instructed to ensure their appearance while bringing in important documents and cooperate with the inquiry against them.

This is not the first time the ACE has summoned SBCA officers, however, no one has been convicted or held responsible, raising huge questions over the working of the anti-corruption watchdog.

The authorities have not taken any action against SCBA officers for illegal constructions and turning the city into a ‘concrete jungle’ despite the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Meanwhile, the illegal construction of high-rise building continues unabated in the city.
