ISLAMABAD: A group of at least of 22 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs including Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain reportedly participated in the Opposition alliance’s session at the Sindh House, Islamabad.
PTI MNA Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain surprised members of the opposition by visiting the Sindh House for the meeting. Estranged PTI MNAs including Noor Alam Khan, Ramesh Kumar, Basit Bukhari and Javeria Zafar were present in the session.
PTI parliamentarians Raja Riaz, Nawab Sher Waseer and Rana Qasim Noon, who have distanced themselves from the prime minister and openly expressed support for the opposition, were also present. Other estranged PTI MNAs seen included Amjad Khosa, Amir Gopang, Farrukh Altaf and Afzal Dhandhla.
According to reports the number of PTI MNAs present at the session was reportedly 22. The PPP claims that after the meeting at Sindh House session, the number of MNAs to vote against the prime minister in the no-confidence motion has gone up to 196.
Earlier, Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain predicted that the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan will be successful and Aleem Khan will become Chief Minister of Punjab.
Dr Aamir Liaquat tweeted, “I am making three predictions; time will prove I was wrong or you were wrong, my friend”. He said the no-confidence vote will be successfulm MQM will back PPP and Aleem Khan will be the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Taking a jab at PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who has been nominated for the post of Punjab chief minister, Dr Aamir Liaquat tweeted: “Pervaiz Elahi, your ability to become a chief minister is now as difficult as taking out toothpaste and putting it back in the tube!!!”
It must be mentioned that on March 23, Aamir Liaquat Hussain along with his newly-wed wife had met Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad. However, Aamir Liaquat said that he has made his mind on voting in the no-confidence but the prime minister is hopeful that the no-confidence motion will fail.
