QUETTA: At least four people were injured on Monday while a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle was damaged in a blast in the outskirts of Quetta.
A spokesman for the Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department said that an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion took place outside the main gate of the vegetable market in Hazar Ganji locality.
He said four passersby were injured while a Frontier Corps vehicle was slightly damaged. He added it was a timed device which had around one kilogramme of explosives.
The blast shattered windows of nearby buildings. The site of the incident was cordoned off by security forces and further investigations are underway to gather evidence. Rescue officials shifted the victims were shifted to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital while two of them are in critical condition.
Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani condemning the incident He said an emergency had been declared at hospitals to provide best possible medical treatment to the injured. He vowed that those responsible will be arrested and brought to justice.
