TRAR KHAL: Prime Minister Imran Khan has hinted at holding two referendums in Azad Kashmir and said that in the first referendum the Kashmiri will decide to stay with Pakistan or India.
Addressing an election rally on Friday, the prime minister said, “I believe the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir will not be wasted. It is a very old struggle and they have repeatedly stood up for their rights.” The prime minister said that a series of statements regarding rigging in the elections had started, the PML-N had not done anything honestly to date and now they have started even before the elections that there would be rigging, he maintained.
PM Imran Khan said in a questioning manner, “The government is yours, the staff is yours, the Election Commission is your choice and we will do the rigging?” He asked about the presence of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in the gymnasium in Lahore and said that when Nawaz Sharif became the finance minister and came to the GymKhana, he used to bring two umpires with him, one a commissioner and the other a deputy commissioner,” he said.
PM Imran Khan said that according to the UN report, the highest poverty rate was reduced between 2013 and 2018, the gap between rich and poor was reduced and the highest expenditure was spent on human development. Around 40 percent of the semi-middle class will have access to subsidized essentials and all databases and software will be ready by December, PM Khan said.
PM Imran Khan said that India was oppressing Pakistanis and Kashmiris and Nawaz Sharif was inviting Indian premier Narendra Modi to attend the wedding and if he goes to India, he does not meet Hurriyat leaders so that Modi government does not get angry, he added.
He further added that not to mention PPP, if former president Asif Ali Zardari had a chance to count money, he would have talked about Kashmir. Addressing the Kashmiri leaders, he said that they should not give up, we stand with them. And will stand by you in every difficulty.
