KARACHI: Four suspects were arrested, including two in an injured condition, after a police encounter near Razzaqabad area of district Malir.
An exchange of fire took place between the armed suspects and police in Razzaqabad area of Karachi in which two criminals were injured. Police eventually took four criminals in custody including two who were injured in the incident.
Police said the robbers were fleeing after looting a civilian this morning while the stolen goods have been recovered from their possession. Police have also recovered weapons, mobile phones, cash and a stolen motorcycle from the suspects.
A case has been registered against them while the suspects are being interrogated to ascertain their criminal activities while further investigation is underway.
A day earlier, a man was caught red-handed after he was planning a mugging bid dressed in police uniform SSP West said that the suspect was arrested from Orangi Town disguised as a police officer.
Police said the suspect the disguise and weapons to deprive citizens of their belongings. Police have recovered the uniform, caps, badges, and weapons from his possession.
Earlier this month, police claimed to have arrested three suspected dacoits who were possessing army and police uniforms and a Rangers cap.
Police conducted a raid and recovered police uniforms, arms, and Rangers cap from three criminals who used to rob citizens by entering their homes while wearing the uniforms.
Police said one of the suspects turned out to be a retired cop identified as Ehsan Farooqui. The criminals were allegedly involved in robbery incidents in Orangi Town and other areas of the city.
