ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have refused to lodge a case against the accused allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a man for ransom.
A resident of Sector I-8/1 area of Islamabad was abducted by his friends at a gunpoint and later released after taking a ransom of Rs 10 million. However, at the request of the abductees, the police are reluctant to take action against the kidnappers.
Talking to MM News, the victim, Ghulam Mustafa said that two months ago, at 8 pm, seven armed men, posing as FIA personnel, forcibly picked him from his residence flat No. 7, Block No. 9, Sector I-8/1 area of Islamabad.
The victim said that only his friends knew that he had money, one of whom was Shahzeb Gilani had tortured him severely and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 million. When the kidnappers got the money, they tied his hands and threw him in 38th Sector I-8 at around 2:00 am.
Ghulam Mustafa said, “When I have applied for registration of the case in the concerned police station, the police refused to take up my case as the son of the SHO is involved in the case,” he added.
The victim said that he also met IG Police Islamabad, SSP Operations Dr Tanveer Mustafa and SP Zone, however; his complaint has not been addressed yet.
He appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Commissioner Islamabad to take notice of the incident and order action against the kidnappers and return the money taken as ransom.
