Punjab bans performance on 30 ‘obscene’ songs in theatres

LAHORE: The Punjab Arts Council has imposed a ban on 30 ‘obscene’ songs in theaters across the province.

Artists will be allowed to perform on songs, words, lyrics, and acting approved by the theatre only. The council also issued a directive to ensure ethical values.

It should be noted that for the last several years in Punjab, ‘obscene’ songs are being produced in the name of entertainment and ‘immoral dances’ are being performed while no steps have been taken by the administration to prevent shameful parties.
