ISLAMABAD: The government has reportedly accepted the demands of the Hazara community and the sit-in and protests in Quetta and other cities are expected to be winded up.
Sources revealed the matters have been resolved between the government and the protestors while a formal announcement in this regard will be made soon. Several political personalities and religious scholars have played a key role in the resolution of the dispute.
It has been revealed that the government has agreed to identify the culprits behind the massacre and act against the non-state actors. The prime minister is expected to visit Quetta after all arrangements have been completed.
Earlier it was reported Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to go to Quetta secretly to meet the family of the Hazara victims due to security concerns. The details of the prime minister’s visit will not be disclosed to the media Sources have informed that the prime minister could leave for Quetta at any time.
The families of the Hazara victims are protested against the massacre of miners by placing their bodies on the highway in Quetta and have refused to bury them till the arrival of the prime minister.
The victims refused to end the protest, despite attempts to convince them by federal interior ministers Sheikh Rashid, Ali Zaidi, and the PM’s aide Zulfi Bukhari.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has left for Quetta to meet the victims while PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s visit was delayed to a technical glitch in the aircraft.
