Traffic plan for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal processions announced

KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police have finalized all the traffic arrangements for the main processions of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal on October 30.

The spokesman for the traffic police said the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal processions would be supervised and monitored by all the SSPs of traffic in their jurisdictions.

According to the spokesman of traffic police, the procession will leave Shaheed Muhammad Masjid Khadar at 2:30 pm while the procession will reach Masjid Gulzar Habib via Plastic Market, Light House, Jamia Cloth.

 The second procession will start from Memnon Masjid Khadar at 2:30 pm and will end at Aram Bagh.

The road from Lee Market, Crane Choragi, Mai Kalachi to MA Jinnah Road will remain closed for traffic while the traffic coming from Kemari to Jinnah Bridge will be diverted to alternative routes.

Traffic coming from University Road will not be allowed on  MA Jinnah Road under Jail Road Flyover and traffic from People’s Choragi to Ayesha Manzil will be diverted to Share Qaeda and President Corridor 3.

The plan states that traffic coming from Gurminder on MA Jinnah Road will be diverted from Banora Town to Central Jail. However, traffic will not be allowed to come from Lasbela, Burns Road to MA Jinnah Road and traffic.

According to the traffic police, it will not be allowed to go to Khadar from Nish tar Road via Rancher Line.

All motorists and other road users are requested not to adopt the route of the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal processions for their journeys but they are advised to use alternative roads/streets/lanes to reach their destinations, which will save them from traffic congestion problems.
