LAHORE: Corona Expert Advisory Group (CEAG) has started considering a lockdown proposal to the government.
Member Professor Asad Aslam of Corona Expert Advisory Group said in a statement that SOPs are not being implemented in any sector other than the markets, which is increasing the chances of the virus spreading more rapidly.
He said that if the situation remained the same, he would again propose a smart lockdown to the government.
It should be noted that the spread of coronavirus has once again accelerated in Pakistan and 10 more people have died from the virus in the last 24 hours while 19 people lost their lives yesterday.

According to the National Command and Operations Center, 736 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 325,480. There are 9,642 coronavirus patients under treatment in Pakistan and 39,136 have recovered.
The coronavirus has killed 2,323 people in Punjab and 2,590 in Sindh. The death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,266, 201 in Islamabad, 148 in Balochistan, 90 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 84 in Azad Kashmir.
There are facilities for coronavirus patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for coronavirus patients in hospitals is 1,920. There are 132 testing laboratories operating in the country and trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in several cities.
