ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has rejected “fake news” circulating on media that educational institutions would be closed again across the country from October 15.
On a social media website Twitter, Shafqat Mahmood said, “Fake news being circulated on social media that educational institutions will be closed on Oct 15. No truth in this”.

Educational institutions in the country reopened in phases starting September 15, with universities, colleges and classes nine and ten resuming on-campus sessions first.
Secondary classes across Pakistan resumed on September 23, while primary schools across the country reopened from September 30.
During the last 24 hours, 375 coronavirus patients recovered and the total number of cured people was 298,968. The number of virus active cases in the country is 9,135.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad has reached 16,766. 99,812 cases have been reported in Punjab, 37,973 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,371 in Balochistan, 3,828 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 2,816 in Azad Kashmir.
