My dream to see Pakistan’s talent in next World Cup: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that it is my dream to see Pakistan’s talent in the next World Cup.

Addressing a function on the broadcasting rights of domestic cricket, the prime minister said that there is nowhere in the world as much talent in our country and if we change the structure of cricket. “No one can defeat us,” he said.

He said that the signing of the Broadcasting Agreement on Domestic Cricket was an important development and the Broadcasting Agreement would promote cricket. 

The prime minister said that in the past, cricket was given a place to like-minded people, and recruiting people on the recommendation in institutions weakens the system but a strong system is needed to improve the players.

He said that we need to set the talent, the Australian team has merit so they are ruling the world but due to a lack of system in Pakistan, the talent was not coming up. The prime minister said that there was a time when everyone was watching state TV and now we have to come up with better quality.

The ceremony witnessed the signing of a three-year agreement for the broadcasting rights of domestic cricket, which is expected to bring in Rs. 200 million to the PCB.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the first assignment of the Broadcasting Rights Agreement will be the National T20 Cup, which will have a positive impact on cricket. National Men’s and Women’s Cricket will spend Rs 15 billion on promotion.
