ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday officially announced launching an English language TV channel for countering Islamophobia.
In a tweet, the prime minister shared a picture of his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on the sidelines of the recent United Nations General Assembly’s (UNGA).
The prime minister said in a tweet, “Our meeting in which we decided to set up a BBC type English language TV Channel that, apart from highlighting Muslim issues, will also fight Islamophobia.”

According to the prime minister, the prominent leaders of the three countries decided to set up an English language TV Channel for outlining issues of Muslims.
Earlier on Thursday, the prime minister, along with Turkish President Recep Erdogan and Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohamad in a meeting decided to launch a new English language Islamic television channel.
The prime minister tweeted about explaining the need behind launching the joint venture, “President Erdogan, PM Mahatir and I had a meeting today in which we decided our three countries would jointly start an English language channel dedicated to confronting the challenges posed by Islamophobia and setting the record straight on our great religion – Islam.”
