Demonstrators in Houston protest against Indian atrocities in IoK

HOUSTON: Thousands of Pakistani, Sikhs and human rights activists held a protest march in Houston, Texas on Sunday.

The protest march in Houston was to condemn the BJP-led government’s abuse of human rights in the Indian Occupied Kashmir, the brutalities intensified after New Delhi’s move to strip off Kashmir from its special status.

The Indian Government enforced the draconian policies of using brutal force against  Kashmiris and blacking out communication channels. The measures came after the Indian government repealed Article 370 in a hasty presidential decree on August 5.

On Sunday, the Indian expats in the U.S organized a meeting called, “Howdy, Modi” in the honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Houston’s football stadium, and the US President Donald Trump also shared the stage with Indian premier, the Hindustan Times reported.

As per ABC News, Justice for All, an interfaith human rights group, and its partner groups organized a huge protest outside of the venue with demonstrators chanting the anti-Modi slogans.

The Sikh population in the United States has joined forces with Pakistanis to demonstrate against the barbarous abuse of Kashmiris by the Indian Government in IoK.

The International Humanitarian Foundation also welcomed the call of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to assemble more than 50,000 Pakistani immigrants in the city, said Saeed Sheikh, President of the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association.

Around 50 buses have been used in transporting 40,000 individuals to the protest site who are taking part in the protest march. Anti Modi and Anti India banners were placed across the streets
