Woman sexually assaulted, tortured in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: A man forcefully entered the house in the wee hours of the day and sexually assaulted a woman in New Town area of Rawalpindi.

The victim, Nuzhat Fatima, said the suspect named Malik Waqar entered her house in the morning on May 28 when she was alone and assaulted here. The woman is a resident of Saidpur Road in Rawalpindi where the incident occurred.

The woman claimed that the suspect came to her house and knocked on the door when she was completely alone. Waqar shoved her aside and forcibly entered her house and closed the door behind her.

The suspect later subjected her to sexual assault and severely tortured her. The woman strongly resited but to no avail. She further said that Waqar fled after threatening her of dire consequences.

Police have filed a complaint after receiving a medical report. The woman has urged for protection from the suspect whom she said is a threat to her life.

Nuzhat Fatima said the suspect is a highly influential person and is also involved in other fraudulent activities. She appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to provide her justice and give exemplary punishment to the suspect.

The victim had reportedly filed a case against the suspect last year which is still pending in the court. The suspect had been pressuring the woman to seek an out of court settlement.
