ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned the federal government against revising the 18th Constitutional Amendment.
While addressing media in Islamabad today, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said, “The federal government cannot change the 18th amendment and we are ready to explain this to other stakeholders,” he said.
The PPP chairman asserted that the federal government will be limited to the federal capital if they continue to be non-cooperative with all the provinces.
He lauded the role of the Sindh government for taking timely steps to contain the spread of Coronavirus, “We are trying to save people’s lives, yet the governor Sindh is protesting against the lockdown.” He added that the other provinces followed suit of the Sindh government and saved the country from a mega-disaster.
Bilawal Zardari earlier on Monday criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan over the lack of measures to tackle the COVID-19 situation. “Imran Khan should start working as a prime minister. He should play his role in uniting provinces in this crisis,” he said.
The PPP chairman said that a national consensus was necessary to win the fight against the coronavirus. “The whole state should be on the same page against the coronavirus,” he added.
