Azhar Ali to donate Rs1 million for PM’s Covid-19 relief fund

LAHORE: Pakistani cricketer Azhar Ali has decided to donate Rs 1 million to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Coronavirus.
Taking to Twitter, Azhar Ali announced that he will be donating the amount to the relief fund established by the prime minister in the fight against the novel coronavirus. He further wrote, “In these testing times we should all play our part in whatever capacity… May Allah forgive us and protect everyone Ameen”.
In his address to the nation, the prime minister announced ‘Corona Relief Fund’ where charitable contributions can be made. The contributions will also be tax free and tax incentives will be given to tax filing persons. The account number is 4162 786 786 at National Bank of Pakistan and will be operational from April 1, 2020.

Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the establishment of Corona Relief Tiger Force to provide food and essential items to the needy people in areas under lockdown, besides disseminating awareness to the public.
The youth force that will work in collaboration with civil administration and army to contain the spread of coronavirus.  He said a cell is working in the PM Office round the clock to monitor the situation closely, adding that the situation will be clear regarding the spread of virus in a week’s time.
The number of coronavirus patients in the country has risen to 1,848 today. This included 627 cases in Sindh, 627 in Punjab, 154 in Balochistan. As man as 217 cases were reported in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 142 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 51 in Islamabad and six in Azaad Kashmir. The virus has so far claimed 20 lives in Pakistan while 57 patients have recovered.
