PSL continues

Fans are enjoying exciting matches for the ongoing Pakistan Super League season 5 in Pakistan. Because this is the first time that full season of PSL has been held in the country. The game of cricket unites the whole country. Despite having obstacles of security and long-distance walking cricket lovers are ready to sacrifice all these obstacles so that they can watch their favorite players play and send a message to the world that Pakistan is a country that loves sports. The people of Pakistan have the right to host cricket too and the country should also be considered for international cricket and ICC events. Foreign cricketers are also amazed at the interest and attachment of the Pakistani people to the game and in their view, the Pakistani people can no longer be kept out of the game for long. To them, Pakistan is a safe country for sports.

So far 23 matches have been played in PSL. Most of the matches so far in this PSL have been played on batting-friendly conditions, which have given fans a chance to enjoy high-scoring competitions. There have been two centuries in the event so far. Rilee Rossow has made record in PSL history by scoring fastest century off 43 balls. Cameron Delport had previously done so with 49 balls. Kamran Akmal has become the only batsman to score 3 centuries in PSL history.  Bowlers appear to have failed to stop the flow of runs so far in PSL matches. So far no bowler has been able to achieve the feat of five wickets. It’s hard to predict which team will top this PSL other than Lahore Qalandars. Fans of Lahore team are still disappointed with the poor performance but they hope the team will definitely come back. The Lahore team has not yet been able to formulate a suitable combination that is why they lack consistency in performance. Multan Sultans hold top position due to good performance on home grounds and have T20 specialist players. Karachi Kings bounce back well after losing two matches and won two consecutive matches. The Kings have benefited from Babar Azam and Foreign Players. Peshawar Zalmi’s performance has been fluctuating. They need to be consistent in their performance in order to win this year’s PSL. All the teams in the PSL have relied on fast bowlers so far. Probably because of the conditions, the spinners don’t have a chance to play. But when given the chance, Umer Khan and Ahmed Safi Abdullah have bowled better.  

The National Team is in dire need of off-spinners at the moment. So, good spinners have to perform for making their side in national team. Haider Ali has caught the selectors’ attention by playing some good innings. Multan’s Ashraf has lost its momentum after a fifty. It is a great opportunity for all Pakistani players to perform well in the PSL, so they can get a spot in the team for the upcoming T20 world cup. PSL matches are currently underway. Hopefully, in the next matches, fans will have a chance to enjoy good matches.
