ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court has extended the judicial remand of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi by 17 days in the LNG case.
AC Judge Azam Khan conducted the hearing in which he questioned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor about the arrest of absconder Shahid Islam. The prosecutor submitted a report in the court with travel history details of an absconder.
Shahid Islam was currently not in Pakistan, the inquiry against him is under process, said the prosecutor.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is facing charges of corruption over awarding an LNG import contract allegedly at exorbitant rates in 2015. He was arrested by NAB while en-route to Thokar Niaz Baig in Lahore on 18th July.
