NEW YORK: Gold prices continued their upward trend in international bullion markets on Thursday, gaining nearly 2% and climbing to their highest level in two weeks amid strong buying interest.

Spot gold rose 1.9% to $4,134.83 per ounce during Thursday’s trading session, reaching its highest level since October 22.

Other precious metals also recorded gains alongside gold. Silver prices increased by 1.7% to $53.12 per ounce, while platinum advanced 2.1% to $1,527.65 per ounce.

Palladium also posted a significant increase, rising 2.6% to reach $1,030.14 per ounce.

Gold’s upward momentum follows another strong session on Wednesday, when prices surged approximately 3.4%. This marked the metal’s biggest single-day gain since August 19.

Meanwhile, buying interest also remained strong in the US gold futures market. Gold futures contracts for December delivery climbed 1.8% to $4,144.20 per ounce.

The latest gains reflect renewed strength across the precious metals market, with gold extending its rally for a second consecutive trading session.
