MUMBAI: Fresh details have emerged in the investigation into the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle. According to sources in the Mumbai Crime Branch, the alleged shooters reportedly surveyed the residences of several prominent film personalities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, before the incident.
Investigators suspect that the accused may have been instructed to identify actors whose security arrangements were comparatively less stringent. According to police sources, the suspects allegedly travelled around Mumbai in auto-rickshaws, asking drivers to take them to the homes of prominent Bollywood personalities. They reportedly claimed that they wanted to photograph the properties.
Auto-Rickshaw Driver Allegedly Provided Information About Tiger Shroff
According to sources, an auto-rickshaw driver allegedly told the suspects during their reconnaissance that Tiger Shroff, son of actor Jackie Shroff, regularly visited a football ground in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sundays.
The suspects reportedly visited the ground on October 11 but did not find the actor there. They allegedly returned on October 18, this time carrying firearms, and opened fire at his vehicle. Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed in the incident.
Investigators Suspect Social Media Was Used to Track the Actor
Investigators suspect that the accused reviewed reels and videos shared by Tiger Shroff’s fans on social media to gather information about his movements and security arrangements.
According to police sources, the suspects allegedly concluded that the actor did not have police protection at the time and subsequently decided to target him.
Information reportedly obtained during preliminary questioning on October 20 has led investigators to examine whether Tiger Shroff was the attackers’ original target or whether the shooting was intended to spread fear across the Bollywood industry.
However, the motive behind the attack has not yet been conclusively established.
Social Media Post Allegedly Claims Responsibility on Behalf of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
Hours after the shooting, a social media post emerged claiming responsibility for the attack on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Investigators are examining the authenticity of the post and whether the accused had any links to an organised group. These aspects of the case remain under investigation.
Search Underway for Firearms Allegedly Used in the Shooting
According to investigative sources, two firearms were allegedly used in the incident: one described as a foreign-made pistol and the other as a locally made firearm.
The suspects reportedly discarded both weapons at an unidentified location while leaving Mumbai.
The Mumbai Crime Branch is attempting to locate the firearms, as their recovery could provide important evidence in the case. Sources also indicated that the accused allegedly had limited knowledge of the foreign-made pistol.
Investigators are examining the suspects’ movements before and after the shooting to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify any other individuals who may have been involved in the alleged plan.
Other Individuals Who Travelled From Haryana to Mumbai Also Under Investigation
According to investigative sources, several other individuals travelled from Haryana to Mumbai during the same period. They allegedly surveyed various locations before returning to Haryana.
However, their precise roles and any possible connection to the shooting have not yet been established.
Investigators are also examining how the suspects allegedly obtained information about the residences, daily routines and security arrangements of prominent Bollywood personalities.
Shooting Raises Security Concerns Across Bollywood
The incident has raised concerns within the entertainment industry. Several personalities, including Amaal Mallik, Mika Singh, Vidyut Jammwal, Shatrughan Sinha and Ravi Kishan, reportedly expressed concern following the shooting.
Investigators suspect that the attack may have been intended not only to target an individual but also to create fear among others in the film industry. However, no conclusive findings have yet been announced regarding the existence or scope of any wider plan.
The Mumbai Crime Branch continues to question the accused, search for the discarded firearms and examine evidence relating to the alleged surveillance of celebrity residences.
Police have not publicly confirmed whether any of the other actors whose homes were reportedly surveyed were also intended targets.
The case has renewed attention to celebrity security in Mumbai, particularly the potential risks associated with sharing information about personal routines and locations on social media.
