WASHINGTON: A video showing U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, briefly losing her balance while getting off a helicopter with her infant son has gone viral on social media.
The incident took place at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland as Usha was descending the helicopter stairs. She was wearing a baby carrier containing her 9-week-old son, Alec Neil Vance.
OMG. Second lady Usha Vance, 9-Week-Old son in a carrier, diaper bag on her shoulder, loses her footing on the Marine One stairs. 🙏
She steadies herself. The baby stays in the carrier. Everyone’s ok. https://t.co/zBZpim7acw

Usha appeared to stumble for a moment but quickly regained her balance. She then immediately checked on her baby and appeared to comfort him before walking away with a smile.
JD Vance was also seen exiting the helicopter shortly afterward while carrying the couple’s 4-year-old daughter, Mira Belle.
The Vance family was traveling to Anchorage, Alaska, where the vice president was scheduled to address a Republican National Committee rally.
Before the flight, Vance told reporters that his wife and children were accompanying him. He said Alaska would be Usha Vance’s 50th U.S. state, which was one of the reasons they decided to take their 9-week-old son along on the roughly seven-and-a-half-hour flight.
