ISLAMABAD: Residents in various parts of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are facing difficulties due to slow internet speeds and service disruptions. According to sources, Wi-Fi and mobile data services have been partially affected in both cities.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has confirmed that a technical issue affecting some service providers was caused by a cut in an optical fiber cable on the network of a private telecom operator. However, the authority said the disruption is limited to certain local and surrounding areas.
The PTA also clarified that internet and communication services in the central and southern parts of the country are operating normally. However, some areas in the northern region have experienced issues with signals and internet connectivity.
According to the spokesperson, technical teams from the relevant companies are working in the field to repair the damaged optical fiber cable and restore services fully as soon as possible.
