ISLAMABAD: The first meeting of the Council of National Coordinators (CNC) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) under Pakistan’s 2026-27 chairmanship will be held in Islamabad from September 28 to 30.
According to the Foreign Office, the meeting will be chaired by Pakistan’s SCO National Coordinator and attended by national coordinators from member states, along with representatives of the SCO Secretariat.

The meeting will discuss SCO cooperation, activities planned during Pakistan’s chairmanship, preparations for upcoming meetings and other key matters on the organisation’s agenda.
Pakistan’s theme for its 2026-27 SCO chairmanship is “Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity.” Under this theme, Pakistan will focus on promoting regional connectivity, innovation, economic cooperation and people-to-people contacts.
According to the Foreign Office, the CNC meeting will be the first major engagement under Pakistan’s chairmanship. Pakistan will also host the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting in August 2027.
