HELSINKI: Olivia Oeras, a 27-year-old Finnish social media influencer, died suddenly while being administered anesthesia ahead of a cosmetic surgery procedure.
Olivia was at a private beauty clinic in Helsinki when her condition deteriorated after she was given anesthesia. She was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment but could not be saved.

Her parents have raised concerns about possible negligence or a serious error by the clinic staff. Police received a complaint three days after the incident and have since launched an investigation into possible criminal negligence. Authorities said the investigation is still in its early stages.

Olivia began her social media journey on Instagram at the age of 14 and later gained recognition as an influencer. In 2016, a documentary titled The Perfect Selfie was released about her life, further increasing her public profile.

She later stepped away from social media and moved to Amsterdam. After returning to Finland, she struggled with the use of sleeping medication and alcohol but underwent treatment and eventually managed to rebuild her life and return to a more stable routine.
