KARACHI: Police have submitted the charge sheet in the Gul Plaza fire case to the court of the Judicial Magistrate South, holding the Gul Plaza Association and its administration responsible for alleged negligence in fire safety arrangements.
The charge sheet, submitted by investigating officer DSP Amir Waris, clears the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Fire Brigade and Civil Defence of negligence.
According to the forensic report, no explosive material or traces of any flammable liquid were found.
The charge sheet states that 72 people were killed in the fire. Police have also submitted a list of 85 witnesses to the court. One suspect, Amin, has been declared a fugitive, while the other accused persons are currently on bail.
