Body of unidentified woman found in Surjani Town drain

The days-old body of an unidentified woman was found in a drain in the Yaro Goth area of Surjani Town’s Godhra Camp in Karachi. Police said the woman could not be immediately identified.

According to details, the body was recovered from a drain within the jurisdiction of Surjani Town Police Station.

After receiving information about the incident, police reached the scene and called the crime scene unit to collect evidence.

The woman’s body was shifted to a hospital for legal formalities. She is estimated to be between 40 and 45 years old.

Surjani Town SHO Nasir Mahmood said the body appeared to be four to five days old. The immediate cause of death could not be determined.

The body was subsequently shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
