ISLAMABAD: The government has announced new prices for petroleum products for August 26 and 27, with both petrol and high-speed diesel becoming more expensive.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs1.12 per litre, taking the new price to Rs343.10 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been raised by Rs1.11 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs371.80 per litre.
The latest adjustment comes just a day after the government announced another increase in petroleum prices.
On the previous day, the price of petrol had been increased by 39 paisa per litre, while diesel had become Rs2.40 per litre more expensive.
With the latest revision, consumers will now have to pay higher prices for both major petroleum products. The increase is likely to affect transportation costs and may have an impact on the prices of goods and services, particularly those dependent heavily on road transport.
The new rates will remain applicable for the announced period, subject to any further revision by the government.
