LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested 18 suspected terrorists during intelligence-based operations conducted across several cities in the province.
According to CTD officials, a total of 117 intelligence-based operations were carried out amid heightened terrorism concerns. The operations were conducted in Lahore, Faisalabad, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Sialkot and Sargodha.
The CTD spokesperson said a substantial quantity of weapons, detonators, prima cards and fuse wires was recovered from the arrested suspects. Prohibited stickers, banned literature and cash were also seized during the raids.
Further investigations into the suspects and their alleged links to terrorist activities are under way.
