Pakistan launches major skills program offering Rs50,000 scholarship cards

A major program aimed at promoting digital and technical skills among Pakistani youth has been launched, under which 50,000 scholarship cards will be issued across the country. The deadline to apply for the program is August 21, 2026.

Under the government’s Hunarmand Punjab Advanced IT and Technical Training Program, young people will receive free training in modern fields, with the aim of preparing them for employment and freelancing opportunities.

Pakistani citizens aged 15 to 50 are eligible to apply, while the minimum educational qualification is matriculation (Grade 10).

Of the 50,000 scholarship cards, 25,000 have been allocated to youth in Punjab, while the remaining 25,000 have been reserved for young people from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan.

Various rewards have also been announced for successful candidates based on merit. Candidates scoring 85% in the final evaluation test will be eligible for fee reimbursement. Those scoring 86–88% will receive a solar panel, 89–91% a Chromebook, 92–94% a laptop, and candidates scoring 95% or above will receive an e-bike.

The training program includes courses in more than 30 fields, including artificial intelligence, digital marketing, web development, graphic designing, e-commerce, cybersecurity, data science, freelancing, video editing, app development, and YouTube monetization.

The program also covers advanced courses such as Amazon Virtual Assistant, Shopify, Daraz Business, WordPress, React, Node.js, MERN Stack, PHP Laravel, Python programming, machine learning, SEO, Google Ads, IELTS preparation, textile designing, digital embroidery, and penetration testing.
