LAHORE: The Punjab Excise Department has announced a significant financial incentive for timely taxpayers, offering a 10 percent discount on motor vehicle token tax for all payments submitted by August 31, 2026.
 Citizens who pay their motor vehicle token tax before the deadline will receive dual advantages: a 10 percent reduction in their tax liability and exemption from late payment penalties. This initiative represents a deliberate effort by the department to promote voluntary compliance and encourage the adoption of digital payment systems across the province.
The Excise Department emphasized that the discount applies exclusively to payments completed within the designated time frame, with no extensions or exceptions. Vehicle owners who miss the August 31 deadline will forfeit the financial benefit and face potential penalties for delayed submission.
The department has directed all taxpayers to utilize e-Pay Punjab, the government’s online payment portal, to settle their motor vehicle token tax obligations. This platform enables citizens to complete their payments securely from home without visiting government offices in person.
