KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) carried forward its bullish momentum into Tuesday’s opening session, with the benchmark KSE-100 index advancing 375 points to reach 187,829.72 by 9:40 AM.

The steady climb reflects investor confidence after Monday’s strong close above the 187,000 mark.

Market data showed trading volume at 71.3 million shares, with a value of Rs3.38 billion across 27,890 transactions. Out of 564 active symbols, 255 advanced, 117 declined, while 192 remained unchanged — highlighting a positive tilt in early activity.

The broader All-Share Index rose 289 points to 113,487.75, while the KSE-30 gained 61 points to 56,192.33. The KMI-30 index added 206 points to 265,894.91, and the banking sector’s BKTI surged 331 points to 53,209.67, underscoring strength in financial counters.

Yesterday’s session, it may be recalled here, had seen the KSE-100 breach the 187,000 level for the first time, driven by bullish sentiment across blue-chip stocks and strong institutional participation.

Analysts noted that today’s continuation of gains suggests investors remain optimistic about near-term market prospects, with banking and large-cap sectors leading the charge.
