LOS ANGELES: Another Love Island USA contestant, Alannah Keyser, is off the show after old social media posts came to light.
Alannah Keyser was removed after a video and several screenshots circulated online. In them she’s seen allegedly using the N-word. The posts were from a private account and only surfaced after she joined the series, so Peacock’s vetting missed them, reports said.
Keyser had entered Casa Amor on Sunday as a “bombshell”. By Thursday’s episode the narrator told viewers, “Alannah has left Casa Amor.” She hasn’t made a public statement yet.
This is the second time this season a cast member’s gone over alleged racist language. Vasana Montgomery was cut earlier after two old clips showed her using the slur. She later apologized on Instagram, saying her words were unacceptable and that she takes full responsibility.
Last year’s season 7 had the same issue. Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega both left the show after past racist comments came up. They apologized publicly too.
