KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has issued a major order while hearing various petitions against the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) examination results.
The court has directed that applicants’ answer sheets and relevant record be sealed and presented. The written order of the hearing held in Karachi has been issued by the court.
The high court ordered the Sessions Judge Hyderabad to obtain the candidates’ written examination papers from Sindh Public Service Commission and seal all record and present it through a court representative at the next hearing.
The court clarified that all this record will be de-sealed later only in the presence of a magistrate appointed by the court.
According to the court order, the current dispute relates to the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024.
The petitioners’ stance is that they were declared failed in the exams on extremely weak and unreasonable grounds, therefore to fulfill the requirements of justice it is necessary that the applicants’ answer sheets be presented for court scrutiny.
On the other hand, Sindh Public Service Commission said in its stance that all candidates were declared failed on merit and there is no element of malice in the results.
During the hearing, Sindh High Court also approved the request of two more candidates to become party to the case. The court directed Sindh Public Service Commission, relevant authorities and the Advocate General to fully cooperate in the proceedings, while the High Court’s MIT II was ordered to ensure implementation of court orders.
