SHC orders to make public JIT report of Baldia factory fire

KARACHI: Sindh high court (SHC) has ordered the officials to make public the JIT report of Baldia factory fire incident in which 258 workers died, the court has given ruling on the plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and federal minister for ports and shipping Ali Haider Zaidi on Tuesday.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro heard the case, the plea lodged in the high court by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi seeking to make the JIT findings public. The court has directed to release the JIT report of Uzair Baloch and former chairman of fisheries Nisar Murai, regarding Baldia factory fire incident.

More than 250 innocent people were burnt to death in the Baldia factory fire, the counsel said that Uzair Baloch, the leader of the Lyari gang war, had made the area a war zone, the counsel said that several police officers and government officials who were not elevated to senior ranks were engaged in the criminal activities and remained mute observers by failing to fulfill their duties.

Applicant federal minister Ali Zaidi requested the court to issue orders to release JIT report of Baldia factory tragedy. He questioned the relevant authorities as to why no action has been taken over the JIT report? and demanded to prosecute the culprits involved in the incident.
Ali Zaidi in his petition said that all the revelations that gang war criminal Uziar Baloch, Nisar Murai made during the investigation can not be ignored.
