After seven years, three seasons and 26 episodes, Euphoria has officially come to an end. Series creator Sam Levinson confirmed the news on Popcast, the New York Times music podcast, in conversation with hosts Joe Coscarelli and Jon Caramanica, with HBO later confirming the announcement to Variety.
The show’s Season 3 finale, titled “In God We Trust,” now serves as its series finale.
The announcement follows years of speculation about the show’s future, with long production gaps and cast members—particularly Zendaya—hinting in interviews that the series was likely reaching its natural conclusion.
More than four years passed between Seasons 2 and 3, as the ensemble cast moved into major film careers, contributing to repeated delays in production reported by industry outlets.
Levinson also said he has always written each season as though it might be the last, and admitted he is unsure about continuing the story further, saying his focus is currently on time away from production rather than expanding the series.
Based on the official logline, Euphoria followed a group of high school students navigating drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media and relationships.
The final season explored themes of faith, redemption and moral conflict, while the cast included Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, and Colman Domingo.
