LAHORE: New details regarding the past relationship between actress Momina Iqbal and PML-N lawmaker Saqib Chadhar have surfaced in the alleged harassment case, with the actress’s lawyers claiming the MPA wanted to marry her despite already being married.

According to details, Momina Iqbal appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) along with her legal team, where new revelations about her alleged past relationship with the Punjab Assembly member came to light.

Speaking to the media outside the NCCIA office, the actress’s lawyers said Momina and Saqib Chadhar remained in contact during 2022 and 2023, and the lawmaker had formally sent a marriage proposal to the actress.

The lawyers claimed Momina later discovered that the PML-N MPA was already married and allegedly wanted to enter into a third marriage. After learning this, the actress reportedly ended all ties with him on moral grounds.

According to the legal team, the situation worsened after Momina Iqbal’s marriage was arranged elsewhere. They alleged that the lawmaker became upset and started harassing the actress after learning about her upcoming wedding.

The lawyers further alleged that Saqib Chadhar used his political influence to register a case against Momina’s fiancé.

They said all documentary and digital evidence related to alleged harassment, threats, and blackmail had been submitted to NCCIA investigators, adding that the actress’s wedding will take place as scheduled on June 1 despite the controversy.

Momina Iqbal and her legal team also thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for taking notice of the matter.
