Saudi Arabia has issued a forceful condemnation of Iran’s missile and drone attacks on multiple Gulf states, describing the strikes as a flagrant violation of international law and warning of serious repercussions if the aggression continues.

In an official statement, Riyadh condemned in the “strongest terms” the Iranian attacks on the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, and Kuwait, five countries struck in what appears to be a coordinated Iranian retaliatory campaign following the launch of the US-Israel joint operation against Tehran earlier today.

Saudi Arabia warned of “dire consequences” should Iran continue what it described as violations of “state sovereignty and the principles of international law,” language that stops short of a direct military threat but signals that Riyadh is prepared to escalate its response if the situation deteriorates further.

The statement positions Saudi Arabia firmly alongside its Gulf neighbours and against Tehran at one of the most dangerous moments in the region’s modern history. While the Kingdom has maintained a complex and at times ambiguous relationship with both Iran and the United States in recent years, tonight’s declaration leaves little doubt about where Riyadh stands as the conflict widens.

The condemnation comes as explosions continue to be reported across the Gulf, with the US Navy’s 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain confirmed as a target and Qatar urging all residents to remain indoors.

The Arab League is yet to issue a collective statement, though pressure for a unified Gulf response is expected to mount rapidly.

With Saudi Arabia, the region’s most powerful Arab state and the world’s largest oil exporter, now publicly drawing a line, the diplomatic and military stakes of Iran’s retaliatory campaign have risen significantly.
