LAHORE: A session court will hear the plea filed against Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda for bringing boot in a talk show.
Additional Sessions Judge Saifullah Hanjara will hear the petition in the case. A petition was filed against Faisal Vawda on 17th January by Advocate Rana Nouman and Mudassir Chaudhry which stated that Vawda had insulted parliament.
According to the petitioner, the move made by Vawda had defamed the image of prestigious institutions.
Earlier this week, Vawda appeared on a talk show and mocked the opposition party’s slogan “Vote Ko Izzat Do” by saying “Boot Ko Izzat Do”, criticising the party for deviating from its stance and lending unconditional support for the services chief’s tenure bills. He startled all by placing a black military boot on top of a table.
In this regard, Prime Minister Imran Khan had barred Vawda from appearing on any talk shows for two weeks, taking notice of the federal minister’s boot gimmick.
